IPIRC Visited the Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia (ACCCIM)

The delegation from Intellectual Property and Innovation Research Center, Xiamen University Malaysia (IPIRC) and Xiamen University Intellectual Property Research Institute (IPRI), led by IPIRC Director, Professor Long Xiaoning and IPRI Dean, Professor Lin Xiuqin, visited the Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia (ACCCIM). The Deputy Secretary-General I of ACCCIM, Mr. Michael Chai Woon Chew, the ACCCIM National Council Member, Mr. Boo Chin Liong, and the ACCCIM representative for the IIC Malaysia, Mr. Tai Foong Lam hosted the delegation at the welcome meeting. The meeting explored topics related to talent cultivation, social services, and other pertinent areas, with both parties actively exploring potential collaboration initiatives for the future.

At the meeting held in the ACCCIM conference room, the delegation engaged in fruitful discussions with ACCCIM representatives. Prof. Long Xiaoning and Prof. Lin Xiuqin shared insights into the center’s achievements in academic research and international cooperation, presenting future talent cultivation plans. Detailed discussions took place regarding potential collaboration models. The attendants also discussed intellectual property legal matters related to trades between Malaysia and China, exploring enhanced conflict resolution strategies and active roles the center and ACCCIM could play in this context.

The visit has further solidified the collaboration between IPIRD and Malaysian business community, particularly in the realm of intellectual property protection. The exchange of ideas and insights should help contribute to the further development of intellectual property protection in the region. The delegation also included Assistant Dean of IPRI, Associate Professor Zhu Dong, Assistant Professor Li Jing, along with Ph.D. students Liu Lingzi and Huang Shimei, all actively participating in the engaging exchange of ideas.
