IRIRC Visited the Malaysia-China Chamber of Commerce (MCCC)

The delegation from Intellectual Property and Innovation Research Center, Xiamen University Malaysia (IPIRC) and Xiamen University Intellectual Property Research Institute (IPRI), headed by IPIRC Director, Professor Long Xiaoning and IPRI Dean, Professor Lin Xiuqin, paid a visit to the Malaysia-China Chamber of Commerce (MCCC) to discuss potential collaboration avenues. The President of MCCC, Mr. Ngan Teng Ye, Vice President of MCCC, Mr. Kevin Siah Teong Chein, Dato’ S.P. Yeat and other representatives from MCCC attended the welcome meeting, which explored opportunities for future collaborations, particularly in the area of talent cultivation.

Prof. Long Xiaoning and Prof. Lin Xiuqin introduced the center’s initiatives in intellectual property research and innovation, emphasizing their commitment to fostering talent and contributing to societal development. Mr. Ngan Teng Ye praised the center’s achievements and conveyed full support for mutual cooperation in talent development and social services. The center extended invitations to MCCC experts as external advisors and proposed future visits by MCCC members to XMUM.

The visit not only deepened connections between IPIRC and Malaysia business community, but also laid the groundwork for robust communication and collaboration between China and Malaysia, with potential to contribute valuable insights to improve intellectual property protection under the Belt and Road Initiative. The delegation also included IPRI Assistant Dean, Associate Professor Zhu Dong, Assistant Professor Li Jing, and Ph.D. students Liu Lingzi and Huang Shimei, who actively participated in the engaging exchanges.
