On October 18, 2024, Professor Long Xiaoning, Director of the Intellectual Property and Innovation Research Centre (IPIRC) at Xiamen University Malaysia, was invited to attend the “The 2nd East Asia Women Entrepreneurs Conference” and served as the host of a roundtable forum. The conference, jointly organized by the Women Entrepreneurs Committee of the Malaysia-China Chamber of Commerce and the Association of Women Entrepreneurs of Hainan, brought together industry experts and academic representatives from countries including China, Malaysia, Indonesia, Japan, the Philippines, and Australia.

Professor Long moderated the roundtable discussion entitled ” The Role of Women Entrepreneurs in Global Economic Integration.” The panelists included Dato’ Ar. Nafisah Radin from Malaysia, Ravenna Chen from China, Fetty Kwartati from Indonesia, Michelle Chan from the Phillipines, Priya Terumalay from Australia, and Anna Yamauchi from Japan. The panel discussion focused on how women entrepreneurs can drive sustainable development through technological innovation, promote regional business collaboration and economic growth, and respond to the opportunities and challenges encountered in the process. Each guest shared insights based on the current state of their respective industries, fostering in-depth exchanges.


This conference broadened IPIRC’s influence within the industry, strengthened its interactions and collaboration with the East Asian business community, and laid a solid foundation for future international cooperation.
